Dear Jack. --
We are just hearing over the radio where the cruisers and destroyers are shelling Japan.  Of course, we are being told Japan hasn't fired a shell -- but that is hard to believe.
I am enclosing a St. Christopher's medal for you to wear.  St. Christopher is the patron saint of travelers and it won't hurt to wear it & may do a lot of good.  This medal went thru the last war with Mr. Brandnor.  Joe Brandnor is waiting in France to go to the Pacific.  He wrote for Don's & Bob's Millers addresses as he heard he was going to India.
Judy is still up here.  Dave went fishing in the river yesterday and got 3 small cat fish.  Finny says there is a man down at the bay who has stocked it and charges 25 cents to fish.  They are all going down & fish on Sunday.
Jimmy Grossman is home from England. I don't know whether you know him or not.  I hear where the navy is now giving 30 day furloughs for 24 month's duty overseas.  I guess you have a long way to go.
Well -- honey this isn't much of a letter -- but I wanted you to have this medal.  News is scarce.
I hope you are well --- & hold on -- honey --  I know everything will come out O.K.
                            I love you  --
                                    Love - Omie.
